The Emergency Medical Response Course is desgned to exceed current curriculum requirements for First Responders including FIre Fighters, Law Enforcement, Life Guards in Massachusetts under 105 CMR 171.000 Massachusetts First Responder Training.

Current Firefighters, Law Enforcement and Public Safety Profesionals who have previously taken a First Responder class will benefit from this refresher program to update their knowlege and skills to be used when responding to medical emergencies.  

Course Content:

• Patient assesement
• Childbirth
• Assesment and treatment of infants and Children
• Airway and breathing emergencies, ventilation devices and oxygen therapy
• Cardiac Emergencies
• Identification and treatment of medical emergencies, bleeding and shock; soft tissue injuries, muskuloskeletal injuries including spinal injuries
• Medical triage and management of Medical MCI's
• Optional CPR add-on available

The program is lead by experienced Emergency Medical Services providers and utilizes classroom lecture, video presentation and simulation based training.

Included with the program are the text book, a DVD for review of skills and the NSC Emergency Medical Response Pocket Guide.

Completion of this training, including the writen and practical end of course evaluations will result in the participant recieving a certification card issued through the National Safety Council valid for 2 years.
